Place your bet as to when the snow at Jawbone will be completely melted! |
This is a picture of the snow drift outside of Cabin 7 (the first cabin on your right as you hike into camp from the trailhead), taken on April 30. If you'll notice Cabin 7 in the background on the left, the drift is well above the point where the roof slopes down to meet the outside wall. Who of us expected there to be this much snow still? At this time last year, there was not a flake in sight. |

As a fun challenge, our Executive Director Tom Atiyeh has proposed a wager. Throw $5 into the pot and you can place a bet on when this entire pile will be melted. (You are always welcome to give more than $5.) We'll keep a running tally of the bets, and our Jawbone staff will make the final call on when the pile has officially melted away. |
