Are you interested in volunteering with Opal Creek?
The wildfires of 2020 marked the end of an era for the ancient forest of Opal Creek, and the beginnings of a new. The staff and friends of Opal Creek find ourselves devoted to seeing this wonder of the world thrive again.
In a future far from now, generations will thank us for protecting this area from logging and destructive ways of managing the forests after wildfire. They will thank us for having researched with new eyes what it looks like to, live, educate, and steward land from within the forest. We are developing a more authentic understanding of what it is to be an advocate for the environment surrounding us. To truly coexist.
Along this journey, Opal Creek will need your help. You can be the voice for nature when the odds are stacked against her, and offer helping hands in cleaning up the ashes. Opal Creek will build again continuing to provide transformative experiences in the wilderness, with the intention to live lighter on the land, and creating a safe respectful place to be yourself.
To be a part of the Opal Creek volunteer community, please fill out this Volunteer Form to allow us to curate experiences based on availability and skill level to ensure everyone gets the most out of their time. Currently we are in the process of figuring out what it looks like to lead a group of volunteers through a recent burn, and are considering all the dangers before we schedule our first events. We are looking forward to seeing everyone once again!
We assure you the forest is still beautiful as it heals, just like we are.
