Lead Cook

As a Lead Cook in the Opal Creek Kitchen, you’ll lead meals alongside a dynamic, supportive, and collaborative team to execute delicious and nourishing food for hungry kids and staff in a beautiful environment. The semi-open kitchen lends itself towards a vibrant community-oriented dining hall, where you’ll have the opportunity to greet and interact with students, campers, and staff. Your backdrop will be the forests, creeks, and waterfalls of Silver Falls State Park, Oregon’s most beloved and largest state park and the ancestral home of the Kalapuya and Molalla Tribes. Staff cabins are available for those wanting to immerse themselves in the wilderness during their employment.

Position type: Full time, seasonal

Season: May 1--June 8, 2025 *possible extension to October 31, 2025

Location: Silver Falls State Park, Sublimity, Oregon

Compensation: $20/hour, 2 days PTO

Perks:Meals provided for trainings and when students are on-site/Basic housing on site and/or staff housing in Salem area/Required certifications sponsored (Food Handlers Cert/CPR)

Prep Cook
